*grumble grumble grumble*

I seem to be having a severe case of writer's block these days. Its not that I don't WANT to write... Everytime I sit down at the computer, my mind goes *poof*! And everything I wanted to say just disappears.

Yeah yeah.. Ju would probably disagree that I DO have a brain (her's hardened into bone a long time ago due to lack of use *grins wickedly*)... But that's coz she's just jealous. Unfortunately for me though, it looks like my brain's headed that way now. Hardening. After all, it doesn't take much brain power to read, watch TV or sleep. And that's basically all I've been doing. Since SPM ended. Sigh.

Oh woe is me!!! I come from the weirdest family ever, I tell ya! Most parents are practically shoving their kids out the door: "Go get a job! Don't be lazy!" While mine? "You want to work? For what? No! You stay home!"

Um?

Yeah. So I'm stuck at home, wondering what to do with all the time I suddenly have on my hands. I've tried studying my Form 6 work and looking for a tuition teacher, but the guy my mum asked actually LAUGHED! He said, "Why does she want to start so early? Most people don't start til May!" And laughed some more. Hmph. Ain't like I've got anything better to do, anyways! Grr.

I'll just leave it at this till I get some sort of inspiration. As of now, my mind's still not functioning (needs a LOT of oiling, mind) and I don't think I'll be writing anything good in the near future. Sigh. Oh well... Gonna go fill my brain with Phantom music (yes, I'm still addicted to that thing).

Bye now, all you lucky people with lives!

It's a Hap-Hap-Happy Day!!!

I've got the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack!!!!!!! WOoooOohOOoooOOoo!!!! :D

*dances around waving CD in the air*

Oh boy oh boy oh boy! I absolutely adore the music! Superb! Magnifique! I'm running out of French words! Wheeeee! Andrew Llyod Webber is a GENIUS! No, he's more than that - he's a SUPER-GENIUS!

(Am I putting in too many exclamation marks? Oops.)

Personal Favourites:

Think of Me
Music of the Night
Angel of Music
The Point of No Return

Oh and Patrick Wilson and Emmy Rossum complement each other REALLY well. PW is a pretty darned good singer, actually. So's ER.

Ooooh BLISS! Goodbye, now. I just HAD to come on and post this. I'm SO happy, you wouldn't believe it. (Okay, so I'm a sad addict. I don't care... I'm luvvin it, baybee! *grins*)

I'll see you 'round. When I can tear myself away from that CD player, that is! Haha.

*waves and skips off*

CD Wish List

I'm in new song deprivation mode. I need new CDs. Badly. I think I've listened to my Joshua Bell CD a hundred gazillion times. Eeps. (It was on repeat... all day long *looks sheepish*). All right, so here are the CDs that are top ten on my list to get A.S.A.P.

1. The Phantom of the Opera OST
2. One Love - Kimberly Locke
3. After The Rain/Spin The Wheel - Bellefire
4. Greatest Hits - Robbie Williams
5. Mistaken Identity - Delta Goodrem
6. Take It All Away - Ryan Cabrera
7. Blue Skies - Diana Degarmo
8. Free Yourself - Fantasia Barrino
9. Twenty Something - Jamie Callum
10. Diane Warren's Love Songs

Now, I gotta figure out a way to wheedle money out of my dad. Sigh. A LOT of money.

Flu-ey Blu-ey

I think I'm getting the flu. Skin feels scratchy, my throat is sore and I feel like I'm floating. Wheee...! The flying feeling is great. Lookame! Lookame! I'm superma..girl!!!

Oh all right. I'm not quite THAT high yet, but I'm getting there. I don't wanna fall sick. It's no fun falling sick. I got no school to ponteng now, so it's pointless falling sick *grins* But ooooh! The suckiness of having a flu when all you wanna do is enjoy!

*clears throat*

Fine. I guess it makes no difference. I laze around anyway, so being sick is a good enough excuse to stay in bed without mum dragging me out. As she's apt to do these days. I'm a lazy bum, I know but when there's nothing else to do, I might as well stay in the most comfy place in the house right? Right?

Oooh. Headache coming on. I better stop. Sigh. (One more thing about the flu - no computer, no TV. *sobs*)

*mutters to self* I will not get sick.. I will not get sick.. I will not...

What This Girl Wants

I finally reached a conclusion about what kind of guy I like - physically, that is. Let's forget the intellectual and er.. emotional? part for awhile. Those are a little to complex to describe :)

First, clean cut guys don't do much for me. Like in the Phantom... I know Raoul (Patrick Wilson) is the good guy and therefore more deserving to be crushed on (being pretty cute too), but if I were Christine, I'd have gone with the Phantom (Gerard Butler). Simply because he's more "darkly appealing", for lack of a better way to put it.

They don't have to be traditionally handsome, but more attractive in a rugged, scruffy sort of way. Broad shoulders, defined muscles, strong hands... Yeah. Think cowboy. Anyone who can fill out jeans and shirts and look sexy on a horse is par for the course *winks*

Another thing... Guys who aren't too clean shaven and have hair in the um... right places. As in on jaw and chest *grins* Stubble, even beards on some. One thing though : don't like moustaches by themselves. He either has a beard to go with it or else he doesn't have either. (Am I sounding a little fussy here? Well.. S'truth *sticks out tongue*)

Now the most important factor - his eyes! I think the physical part I'm MOST particular about is the eyes. His eyes have to be able to draw me in, make me WANT to keep looking into them - not giving me a choice. As in a "I couldn't tear my eyes away" kinda thing. Some people say "bedroom eyes". I suppose that's a good enough description. And mind you, not every guy has those. Trust me on this one *grins wickedly*

That's the gist of it. There're probably more minor details but I'll spare you. Here are some celebs who fit the list...

Hugh Jackman; Colin Firth; Vince Vaughn; Colin Farrell; Gerard Butler; Joshua Bell (one of the few clean-cut hotties); Johnny Depp; Vivek Oberoi; Sebastian Izambard and Carlos Marin (both from song group Il Divo).

Tha's all for now, folks. Will update you IF I ever change my mind *winks*

Music of Angels...

"The Phantom of the Opera is here... Inside my mind..."

That's what watching the Phantom does to you. You go in expecting to be entertained. You come out with the music stuck in your head. There is no need for conversation, for a "plot". The music speaks in ways that only the heart can understand. Oh yes, the lyrics are beautiful, but what you recall when you come out is the music. The haunting sadness that is the music of the Phantom of the Opera. I have no words to describe what is running through my head right now. The visuals were breathtaking, but all that matters is the melody... That is what stays with you. Powerful.. Overpowering. It isn't something I can explain. All I know is ... I never wanted the music to end.

School-less Blues

4 days into 2005 and I'm already wondering what on earth to do with myself. I'm actually really jealous of those school-goers and those who've started college already. Do you know why? Because they have something to do, something to "look forward" to everyday.

Don't get me wrong - being on holiday is great. The only thing is, it really taxes your mind to come up with something, well, different to do each day. Honestly, I'm running out of ideas. AND dad won't allow me to work.. Says I can help out in the clinic. But problem is, I can only do that when they're short-staffed. Which they aren't, at the moment. Sigh.

The only things that are taking up my time right now are watching TV (too much of it, I think), chauffering my mum around and attempting to get my piano pieces to actually have a semblance of the songs that they are. Oh, and not to mention occasional busy-bodying trips to the kitchen (those cupcakes didn't turn out quite as bad as I thought *grins*).

I guess I should start learning cross stich. Jenn lent me so many fantastic books with patterns to choose from that I just don't know where to start... Hm. Maybe actually buying the needle would be a good idea.

One thing about the beginning of the year - there are at least 20 birthdays between now and March. In January, just within the family, there are... 6, if my memory doesn't fail me. And at least 4 friends. In February, there are (with the exception of me) at least 8. Eeks.

Hm.. Maybe I should spend my time making those weird birthday cards I used to hand out in Form 1 (hey, people actually kept em... at least, Ju and my dad did :P). Weird is an understatement, though. Ju will gladly testify to that . Oh well. Just pray that I don't have your address *grins wickedly*

*yawns* Think I'll go bang the piano a little more now.

I Hereby Resolve To...

It's 2005. Whoopee. I'm into the final legs of my 17th year and it's SCARY! :( Anyway I've resolved to make resolutions this time around. Not many, though. I think I'll have trouble keeping even ONE. Sigh.

Okay. *takes deep breath*. Here goes...

1. I will spend at least half an hour daily in prayer... no matter what.

2. I will start studying as soon as is humanly possible, and continue without slacking. (God help me.. this is why I need to keep the first one *groans*)

3. I will practise the piano regularly. I have so much free time, I should put it to good use.

4. I will NOT skip school unnecessarily AND finish all the work given by the appointed time. (Ooh boy. This is going to be HARD! :S)

5. I will get over him... Somehow, I will. (Ju.. remember what I said about intro-ing hunks *winks*)

6. I will not lead another guy on. Sigh. Or to put it bluntly - I should check my motives thoroughly before embarking on another hell-ride merely on a whim. I know what I want and I shouldn't settle for anything "less". (Not LESS less... just someone I'm not 100% comfortable with).

7. I will learn how to cook like a normal person. I think I'll be getting pretty bored of egg rice, rice and fried egg, Cintan mee and curry powder soup (don't ask :P) and messed up Maggi mee once I have to live alone.

Okay. That's all I can think of for now... But I think it'll be a horror trying to keep even ONE of those. Eeks. What have I gotten myself into???

All the best to those who've made equally tough or tougher resolutions. We will OVERCOME! *punches fist in the air*

Ow. I think I pulled a muscle.

You

there's always something
in the way
there's always something
getting through

but it's not me
it's You,
it's You

sometimes ignorance
rings true
but hope is not in
what i know
it's not in me ... me

it's in You,
it's in You
it's all i know
it's all i know
it's all i know

i find peace when
i'm confused
i find hope when
i'm let down
not in me ... me
in You
it's in you

i hope to lose myself
for good
i hope to find it in the end
not in me ... me
in You
in You
in You

it's all i know
it's all i know
it's all i know

in You
in You
its in You
its in You

there's always something
in the way
there's always something
getting through

but it's not me
it's You
it's You
it's You ....

The Year That Was...

Oh boy. There're only 4 hours and 58 minutes left til 2004 is officially over. Is it just me or has this year passed by at the speed of light? I'm still wondering where all that time went.

I have just spent the last day of the year in the kitchen. Tried baking cupcakes. They sucked. Waaay too sweet for my liking. AND I'd already halved the original sugar quantity specified. Eek. (Makes you wonder how some people actually manage to swallow their food without "krenasi-ing".)

My mum says they're good but heck. She's my mum. Doubt she wants to be responsible for a bout of low self esteem or something. Also helped mum make New Year's Eve dinner. They cut, I fry :) Couldn't ask for a simpler job than that. Hehe.

Anyway, here's a recap of the memories from this year that I treasure the most...

1. Being in the same class as all of my closest friends. I couldn't have asked for a better way to finally come to the end of official school life. MGS and all its quirks will probably be what I miss most about 2004.

- To the junior MGSians... Keep the spirit flying! We've always been top, make sure we remain there okay? (That means not relying too much on the "last minute boleh" ability we seem to have, ok? :P)

2. Chinese New Year in Malacca and our discovery of the "Jetty". Probably one of the best CNYs we've had in recent years. This was also the last CNY spent with Mama and nothing will be the same without her.

3. Mama's passing and how the whole family rallied together to look after her. The hospital staff were astonished, but what can I say? Our family has always pulled together and supported each other.. And I'm sure we always will.

4. Malaysian Idol. All right, so I may seem like a lifeless fool, but MI has nonetheless brought more colour to my life. Mainly because of the many new and different people I've met through the MI Forum. All I can say is, it's been a fantastic experience and I'll never regret the day I chose to join the forum. THANK YOU GUYS!! This year meant so much more to me because of
you guys. Here's to more fanaticism in MI 2005 *grins wickedly and raises glass*

5. Insanely Sane :)

- Xin Yi... Form 6 eh girl? Guess we'll still have a lot in common. It's just a waste that I won't be studying with you anymore. But count on the fact that I'll be picking your brain whenever I can ;)

-May and Jen... I'll miss you guys and your impersonations! But more importantly, I'll miss the closeness and how how you guys were always just THERE.

- Ju... I swear, no matter what, we'll find time to hang out. Even if it means sending you to college (or have you not yet recovered from my attempt at driving like a normal human being? :P).

- Priya... All the best! I hope you have a good time in Australia and come back with top honours. I'll be waiting with my newly acquire Golden Retriever. *grins* Well, I can dream, can't I?

6. Meeting Duane again after 6 years. I'm just really sorry that we couldn't see Ava as well. Sigh.

7. The Asian Quake. I can only pray that God will give peace to all those affected and help then to rise again from the tragedy that's hit so close to home.

That's just a gist of all that went down throughout the year. If I were to list everything down, my fingers would never recover from the strain :)

That said, I have only one regret from the whole of 2004 and it is that I wasn't as prepared as I should have been for the SPM examinations. But with that in mind I'll try and make sure I don't make the same stupid mistake again in Form Six.

Hey! My very first New Year's resolution! (Oh dang. Now I'm gonna have to keep it. Sigh.)

A Blessed New Year to all and may the hand of God be upon you and guide you through the year safely.

CHEERS!!
