Weekend Drive

Just came back from a road trip along Great Ocean Road. A weekend long trip. The journey was tiring, but the view - absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous! The whole drive long we could see the power and beauty of the sea, whether just the rolling of the waves, or the swells breaking across the cliffs and rocks.

The thing that was great about the journey was that we had views on BOTH sides - the ocean on our left and hilly regions on our right. Scattered livestock grazed all over the place, and let me tell ya, I have NOT seen so many cows in my entire life! (Real cows, Jen, not the ones that exist in MGS and whatnots *winks*).

We spent the night at Apollo Bay, and we managed to cover Lorne, the Erskine Falls, the Cape Otway Lightstation, Gibson Steps, the 12 Apostles and the Shipwreck Coast, the last of which provided us with a view so spectacular, I can't describe it, and doubt I'll ever have a chance to see again. All the superlatives in the world are inadequate. It was simply - heavenly.

But the beauty of the Shipwreck Coast also lies in the treachery of it. There can't be any doubt why it was called that - and when you look at the huge rocks and cliffs, and the power of the water, it isn't hard to imagine how it managed to claim so many lives.

We spent a lot of time at the Shipwreck Coast. I could definitely go back there. Hopefully, I will. Anyone wanna come? *smiles hopefully*

We mostly stopped to admire the scenery along the way. Every stop gives you a different angle, so each has a different kind of beauty. We were very blessed - the weather we had all weekend was perfect for the kind of view we wanted - when the sea was at it's most awesome. Plus, it was sunny all day today. So yeah. Certainly blessed.

I'll post pictures up when I get home, and explain what each album/section represents. Oh! And we had a fireplace and I lit a fire! :D More of that, when I get home.

I saw Lavinia on Friday, with her friend Daniel. It was interesting, seeing her again. Can't believe how fast we've all grown up! We didn't really have much time to talk, but I guess it was good, seeing her for the first time in 3 ++ years!

Uh oh. I overstepped my personal typing limit. Gotta go! Pics to come in 9 days. See y'all!
